Recently, the Day Care Service at the Mother’s Association Ha Wan Integrated Elderly Services Centre organised a ‘Zongzi-themed Dragon Boat Festival’ event, inviting elderly residents and their families to revisit traditional customs together. Through interactive activities such as a quiz, storytelling about Qu Yuan, making scented pouches and a ‘zongzi fishing’ game, the event helped to enhance the elderly residents’ cognitive abilities and foster social interaction. The atmosphere was lively, with the elderly participants eagerly answering the quiz questions, working seamlessly with their families to make scented pouches, and cheering each other on during the zongzi fishing game – creating a heart-warming atmosphere. The event concluded with the presentation of festive gifts and a group photograph, as wishes for health and happiness during the Dragon Boat Festival were exchanged amidst laughter and joy, marking a resounding success.
