The Fragrance of Flowers Fills the Air, Love in Our Hearts: A Series of Events Celebrating Parental Love
14/05/2026

To celebrate Mother’s Day with our elderly residents and their families, and to express our gratitude to mothers for their dedication to their families, the Centre is organising the ‘Fragrant Blooms, Love in Our Hearts’ series of events to honour parents. These include a floristry workshop running from 4 to 7 May, a baking workshop on 9 May, and on Mother’s Day itself (10 May), the presentation of flowers and cookies handmade by our residents to the elderly, with the aim of fostering interaction and companionship between family members and residents, and expressing love through these gestures.
The event was divided into two parts. The first part consisted of four flower arrangement workshops, where residents and their families worked together to create miniature garden scenes, mosaic bouquets and other floral arrangements. Both residents and their families were fully engaged in the process, which helped to foster interaction and strengthen family bonds.
The second part was a baking workshop, where the elderly residents and their families worked together to make biscuits from scratch. From kneading the dough to shaping and decorating the biscuits, they shared the joy of baking, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and warmth. On Mother’s Day itself, the centre organised a flower-giving ceremony, presenting the elderly with wreaths alongside the biscuits they had made themselves. Family members were also present to accompany them, creating a touching and heart-warming scene. This successfully allowed the elderly to feel their families’ love and care, fully embodying the spirit of gratitude associated with Mother’s Day.
