A Joyful Celebration: Season 1 Birthday Party for the Birthday Boys and Girls

On 17 April 2026, the Day Care Service at the Mother’s Association Ha Wan Integrated Elderly Services Centre held the second ‘Joyful Seniors’ Birthday Celebration’ of the season. The event was organised to celebrate the birthdays of elderly residents born during that season, and parents and children from the Mother’s Association St John’s Nursery were specially invited to visit and celebrate with the elderly residents. The birthday party fostered social interaction among the elderly, thereby enhancing their sense of belonging and providing them with a memorable celebration.
On the day of the party, staff meticulously decorated the venue and produced a short video introducing the birthday celebrants, helping everyone to get to know one another better. A group of adorable children joined the elderly in the celebrations; they had prepared a wonderful dance performance, followed by a group sing-along of ‘Happy Birthday’ for the birthday celebrants, and the children also presented gifts to each of the elderly residents. Afterwards, everyone took part in interactive games, with the elderly residents participating enthusiastically, creating a lively atmosphere. At the end of the event, the centre presented each birthday celebrant with a gift as a token of sincere wishes. The elderly residents who attended the event all remarked that the birthday party was warm and enjoyable, and they are very much looking forward to gathering again next season.
