Through the vibrant art of quilling, the activity enables participants to roll, fold and assemble paper strips to create unique three-dimensional artworks. Throughout the process, the elderly participants and their family members need to work together and share tasks. This not only promotes social interaction and emotional connection but also, through the precise manual movements involved, helps to train the participants’ finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination, thereby achieving the benefits of hand function training. Whilst assisting and accompanying their loved ones, family members are better able to observe the participants’ motor skills and modes of expression, thereby developing more empathetic communication skills and enhancing their practical abilities in daily care.
