Warmth of Autumn: Companionship with Elders

To celebrate the Elderly Day and promote the virtue of respecting the elderly, the Day Care Service of the Mother's Association's Hoi Wan Integrated Elderly Service Centre organised the ‘Warmth of Autumn: Companionship with Elders’ event. Through this activity, the elderly gained increased opportunities to engage with the community, enhancing their social participation abilities. It stimulated their senses, broadened their recognition of people, events, places, and objects, and fostered positive interactions between the elderly and their families.
The outing took participants to the Hengqin Campus of the University of Macau, where elders and their families shared a convivial lunch, engaged in lively conversation, and took part in interactive matching games. Amidst the autumnal campus scenery, the seniors enthusiastically sought designated locations, posing for photographs with family members and staff amidst a warm and joyful atmosphere. This event not only enriched the community life of the elderly but also successfully fostered intergenerational bonds, strengthening the community's care and support network.
